Improved Report Filtering with AND/OR Tag Operators
We’ve added the ability to use both "AND" and "OR" operators when using reports or the Timesheets view, giving you greater flexibility and precision in refining your search criteria.
- Use "AND" and "OR" operators when applying tags.
- Use "AND" to narrow down search results by applying multiple tags.
- Use "OR" to broaden search results by including items that match any of the selected tags.
- Combine "AND" and "OR" operators within the same filter operation to create complex search queries.

Enhanced Integrations with monday.com and ClickUp
Workspace admins can now choose specific boards to sync from monday.com or spaces from ClickUp, instead of syncing everything. This allows for a more tailored and streamlined integration experience, ensuring that only relevant data is synced to your workspace. Plus we’ve added the ability to map custom columns from monday.com to Timely fields, giving you more flexibility in how you import data from monday.com into Timely.
Memory for Windows Gets a Powerful Overhaul
Windows users - this is your time! We’ve completely overhauled and redesigned Timely’s automatic time tracking app, Memory for Windows. This update, gradually rolling out, only affects time trackers that downloaded the app before June 2024.
If you’re eager to start using the new and improved version, you can manually update right now! Download the new version of Memory for Windows and simply follow the install steps and select "replace existing app." Don’t worry; your previous data will remain intact through this simple but powerful update.

Join the Beta!
Windows and Mac users, we invite you to join the beta for our new Timeline feature. Beta testers love the complete control over the granularity of tracked activities, dedicated columns for favorite apps, faster Memories, and major enhancements to AI drafts. Customers can request to join the beta now, and we’ll get your workspace activated. Your data will stay safe when you switch between classic and new Timely.
How does this improve time tracking in Timely?
With the confidence that comes with having more visibility of every second of your day through more granular memories you can be sure that you're tracking the right time to the project. This means you can forget about the hassle of logging individual Memories—Timely's new approach streamlines the process by allowing you to select entire time spans. This shift not only eliminates the need to log every memory for the sake of "inbox zero" but also provides clarity by separating time entry from memory. In the new Timeline, clicking on a Memory solely captures the memory's duration, eliminating any ambiguity about what your manager can view in your time entries. Utilize notes and tags to convey specific details and categorize your activities effectively.

Bonus Updates
⚙️ The Locked Time API is now available. See the developer API documentation. This enables you to lock time based on automations you create through our Zapier app integration or with your own self-hosted custom code. You could for example lock a time period automatically on the nth day of a new month, using Zapier's Schedule feature. The cost of a time entry is now exposed in our public API, see documentation here. The cost is calculated based on the logging user's cost rate outlined in this help center article from Timely’s friendly and fabulous support team!
